Bill Hughes and Bernadine Carraher who previously worked together for six years set up Mind the Gap Films in 2001.  The company specialises in Television entertainment, music, documentaries, and other factual programming.  We regularly work on large scale productions with budgets of over €1 million and bring them in on time and on budget.

Our latest format “It’s My Show” for the 9 to 13 year age-group was a ratings winner for RTE.  Our acclaimed documentary on world renowned Irish pianist John O’Conor’s masterclass was shown at the Dublin Documentary Film Festival and on RTE in February 2009.  Our observational documentary An Bhfuil Cead Agam, following 10 adults at a summer Gealtacht course trying to revive their school Irish, was broadcast for Seachtain na Gaeilge on RTE1 in March 2009.

We are in post-production on a new archaeological adventure series for RTE due for broadcast from 20th to 24th September.  We are also in post-production on an alternative comedy series for BBC NI featuring comedian Adam Hills exploring the relationship between comedy and disability. We have just completed a long form observational documentary series for RTE called Music Changes Lives and a series for TV3 called “Modern Ireland” .Our diverse production slate last year included a documentary on the recently deceased singer songwriter Christy Hennessy.

In 2005, “Happy Birthday Oscar Wilde” a 90 minute special filmed in association with Art for Amnesty for RTE, PBS, BBC and SBS won a nomination for the Golden Rose of Lucerne.

In Hallelujah Broadway, we harnessed the emotional power of the songs that have so inspired millions of theatre goers and gathered them all together in one feast of entertainment.  This show is high on emotion with a true spiritual connection at its heart.  We selected the most uplifting and powerful songs from the great Broadway musicals and had them sung in Church, accompanied by the Prague Filmharmonic Orchestra and Choir.
